Jewellery Care

GENERAL CARE

Gold Plated Jewellery

Our solid Sterling Silver jewellery pieces are gold plated with a thin layer of 24K gold to ensure endurance and quality. However the plating will eventually wear off, as all gold plated jewelry lose their color overtime. Please note that the fading of the gold plating depends on various factors such as contact with skincare products, level of perspiration or your natural skin PH*. To maintain the plating more and minimize wear we suggest the following:

  • Avoid contact with water (take off when showering, swimming or exercising)
  • Avoid contact with ruff surfaces
  • Avoid contact with chemical products (skincare, perfumes, lotions, sunscreen, creams)
  • Wipe clean with a soft fabric before putting away
  • Keep in a cool dry place (airtight container)

Tarnish

Tarnish of the metal is caused by oxidization of the surface layer of metal. Eventually as result of exposure to air and moisture the metal will lose it’s lustre. To slow down tarnishing we suggest the following:

  • Avoid contact with water (take off when showering, swimming or exercising)
  • Avoid contact with chemical products (skincare, perfumes, lotions, sunscreen, creams)
  • Keep in a cool dry place (airtight container)

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR JEWELLERY

Gold Plated Jewellery

To clean your gold plated jewellery wash it with a small amount of non-chemical soap (or dish soap) and warm water. Rinse it well and allow drying on a paper towel. Use a soft, non-abrasive cloth or jewellery cloth and gently rub the surface to clean.

Silver Jewellery

To clean your silver jewelry, use a small amount of silver jewelry cleaner on a soft cloth and gently rub the silver several times. Then rinse thoroughly in warm water and dry with a non-abrasive cloth. This will remove the tarnish and dullness.

Please note that our packaging is not airtight thus not made for long-term storage for gold plated jewelry.
